What If Education Is Not The Answer?
My heart aches
Emotion arises
They said it would be easy
That education was the answer
The perfect job will be waiting for you
If you complete all your courses,
Put in the time, aim for A’s
Your skills and abilities will be recognized
When you have the letters behind your name
Here I stand, staring at these pieces of paper
Not one, but two, B.Sc., M.Ed.
They said it would be easy
That education was the answer
Who are they? And where do they live?
I trust that I will find a way to work that fulfills
But it is not easy to wade through the world,
seeking where to apply all this “education”
Slowly letting go of the illusion that I should know how to do this,
Or have it figured out
Here I stand, open to the possibility that it will align
It has aligned, in one sense
All that has happened in between is equally valuable
Enriched through direct experience of life
Out of the library, out of the classroom, out of the textbook
I can live here too

| Transformation You once looked brown and lifeless Now you are filled with color Seemingly overnight you brought your beauty forward for all to see It was there all along Merely hidden, unnoticed You remind me to be patient The beauty is displayed when the conditions are right and not a moment before May we celebrate this time of fruition together |
Interpretation
Everything is meaningful, yet it is us who gives all meaning to that which we see
Every experience offers the opportunity for learning and growth,
yet it is us who decides how to interpret what happens…
determining whether we learn from it
The same event can be exhilarating for one person
and devastating for another
The same meal could be enjoyable to one person
and dissatisfying to another
The same person could evoke a feeling of love and appreciation in one
and annoyance and dislike in another
What is actually happening?
How much are our filters clouding our vision?
Do we have the capacity to see clearly?
It is our minds that are dictating how life is experienced
Now, the concept of choice can be remembered
How are we choosing to experience life in this moment?
New Vision
Grounding a New Vision
Words, music, movement, continuing the flow of life energy
Standing up and seeing what arises
The moment will bring the material if we tune in and listen
Bringing forth new sound, creative words, heart centered expression
Ready, set, go
Connect, communicate
Starting the new dialogue, continuing to question,
bringing up flaws in the system
Asking for compassion, love and leadership in service of the whole
Waking up, remembering each of our roles
The time is now, we are finally here
Grounding a new vision
Ready to release the old
Resonating at a higher frequency
Refusing to step down
Standing strong in truth
No need to defend as attack is impossible
We stand unarmed knowing that the future is here,
the past is ready to dissolve
New vision, grounded, embodied, expressed
Evolution in action
Transition
I was here, now I’m gone
Appearing, disappearing
Sharing thoughts, feelings, experience
Appreciating what is
Continuing to envision enhanced possibility
Filling up blank pages with that which inspires
The intention, the aim, the goal
Fuller expression
Rich moments unfolding as like minds join
Swirling of what has been, what is and what can be
Now, our new story begins, sparked by what is here, now
So much is available to the open, receptive mind
Take it in, play with it, offer what works
Trust in your deepest truth
Commit to recognizing your gifts and bringing them forward
It’s time to transition

Embracing what is

new ways of Doing

Waiting to come to life to be seen and known
| Walking Into Uncertainty
Withholding forgiveness Expecting others to know better even though they have no access to their loving, creative capacities Many are still mesmerized by the fear-based focus on survival and accumulation of resources Trying to protect themselves from the unknown that could destroy them The question being, how to get more in order to feel safe and secure No answer will satisfy No amount of stuff will lead to a feeling of peace It’s not‘easy’ to let go of all the conditioning The time will come though If an end to suffering is desired Life will show us how When we are ready to listen Accessing compassion for what has been and what is now Things are exactly as they should be Given the patterns and belief systems we have internalized throughout time If we’re willing, open and receptive new possibilities can show up Creating a new reality through participation in the unknown Becoming comfortable with uncertainty Acknowledging fear and anxiety as part of the process Dropping the masks Opening our hearts and minds Accepting the experience of growth Discovering sources of support for new ways of being and doing Enhancing our ability to love and be present for one another Living our truth Revealing our authentic Self to the world Saying Yes to life |
Opening the Door Opening the door and walking in It now feels so simple, so natural Years spent waiting, wondering, questioning Years spent in frustration, asking, if not now when? Why not now? Where is this door? How do I do it? Fatigue, impatience, struggle Maybe it’s not meant to be Maybe I’m on the wrong path Now I watch this door open With a sense of gentleness, ease and confidence I walk through Okay, I am doing this I am here, now Beauty, freedom, reverence, rest |

| The Invitation
The war is over Put down your weapons There is no need to continue to destroy yourself There is another way if you desire to see it The Voice of reason can be accessed Wisdom,truth and beauty can replace confusion A divided mind cannot heal One that is centered in love can Fear and doubt can be exchanged for love and trust The solution cannot be found within the problem Wake up and start over A much grander version of life is waiting to be revealed to you Start asking new questions, free of the inner tyrant State with conviction that you are ready It is time to be showered with light Dissipating the darkness that once ruled your mind You know in your heart that it’s possible Please remember Celebration of freedom awaits Everyone at the party anticipates your arrival You have been given the invitation Just say yes |
